Add today’s food and symptom note.

Keep entries brief and consistent so patterns are easier to review.

Read results with portion context. Individual tolerance varies, and recipe totals can create FODMAP stacking. These tools organize educational information rather than diagnose symptoms.
How this tool works

A useful answer in three simple steps.

  1. 1

Add the date, foods eaten and symptom intensity.

  2. 2

Include optional context such as stress, sleep or activity.

  3. 3

Review entries over time or export a private CSV copy.

Why this tool

Answers built from a structured database.

The diary organizes observations without assuming that one food caused a symptom. Entries are stored locally in this browser and are not synchronized to a FODMAP Check account.

Sources and limits

Serving guidance and diet stages are interpreted with resources from Monash University and NIDDK. This tool provides educational information and does not diagnose IBS, SIBO or food intolerance.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What should I record in an IBS food diary?

Record meals, approximate portions, timing, symptoms, intensity and useful context such as stress or sleep.

How long should I keep a symptom diary?

A consistent period is more useful than isolated entries. You can continue during elimination and structured reintroduction.

Is my diary private?

Entries are stored locally and are not synchronized to an account. Someone using the same device and browser profile may still be able to view them.

What happens if I clear browser data?

Clearing site storage may delete the diary. Export a CSV if you want to keep a separate copy.

Can the diary identify trigger foods?

No. It organizes observations but cannot prove that a food caused a symptom.
