Who is responsible
FODMAP Check is the data controller for information collected directly through fodmapcheck.com. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to contact@fodmapcheck.com.
Information we process
Contact messages
When you use a contact form or email us, we process the details you provide so we can answer the request and maintain an appropriate record of the conversation.
Newsletter subscriptions
If you subscribe to a newsletter or downloadable resource, your email address is sent to the email-service provider identified in the form. You can unsubscribe using the link included in each message.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics remains disabled until you select “Allow analytics.” If enabled, it may process device, browser, approximate location, referral, and page-usage information. You can change your decision through “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Tools stored in your browser
The symptom diary and elimination planner use local browser storage. Entries remain on your device and are not sent to FODMAP Check by those tools. Clearing browser storage removes them.
Technical logs
WordPress and the hosting provider may process IP addresses, timestamps, requested pages, and security events in routine server logs for security, availability, and troubleshooting.
Why we use information
Information is used to respond to requests, provide requested subscriptions, maintain site security, operate requested features, and—only with consent—understand aggregate website usage.
Retention
Contact records are kept only as long as necessary for the inquiry and legitimate administrative needs. Newsletter data is retained until unsubscribed or otherwise removed. Analytics retention is controlled in the analytics service configuration. Server-log retention is determined by the hosting and security configuration.
Service providers and international transfers
FODMAP Check may rely on WordPress hosting, form delivery, email marketing, security, and consented analytics providers. Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area under their contractual safeguards.
Your rights
Depending on the applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Send requests to contact@fodmapcheck.com. You may also contact your local data-protection authority, including the CNIL in France.
Children
The website is general educational content and is not intentionally designed to collect personal information from children.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. This policy should be reviewed with the site operator’s verified legal identity, address, hosting provider, and processor contracts before launch.
